Week two complete, week three beginning!

Whew, I made it through week two... but it was not as great as I would have liked. I did not think that I was really modifying the moves but I was never able to get a really great calorie burn?!! Here are the stats and then I will talk about some things that I need to clarify.

Week 2:

Chest and Back - 337
Treadmill - 293
Plyometrics - 593
Shoulders and Arms - 384
Yoga - 207
Legs and Back & Treadmill- 705
Kenpo - 445

For a total of 2964 calories

Now, my big concern is with Yoga... I just feel like I am wasting 1 1/2 hours of my time doing Yoga when all I burned was 207 calories. Is it really worth it? I have to do some research today and see if yoga is going to do more for me than say... Cardio X. During that workout my average heart rate was 86... I think that I may have been sleeping!!!! There were moments that my heart rate went higher but in all it was low. I did get into the crane position three times (for mere seconds but I am counting it) and was able to hold most all of the other positions as well... but I could have cried when I stopped my HRM and saw what little fat I burned.

Anyway, I will get over it! I am adding Ab Ripper this week because I am feeling better. I will also note an increase in my Average and Maximum Heart Rate, I am sure because I am no longer on Prednizone. My weigh in will only take place at the end of the month... I am tired of being disappointed. I should say that someone asked me what I was doing because I was looking good... and looking like I was losing. That is always a motivator... so I will just stay away from the scale for now.

So, that is it... make it a great day! Tonight is Chest and Back - yippee!

Hey there doll. Glad you are feeling better!!

We are on Week 3. Yay. Although, I only did 2 workouts last week. This winter is really zapping my energy and I had a few emotional days. Hopefully this week will be better. Chest and back tonight - no excuses!!

Hope you figure out something for the yoga day. Maybe a month 1 Insanity workout? Although, did you even do Insanity? I don't remember. LOL

Oh, and I often serve toast and cereal if the kids don't like a meal. But they MUST at least try it. After that, I don't force the issue. They'll survive. According to my mom, I lived on olives and bologna for years. :)

Hey that sounds pretty good :) I just finished week 3 this morning ;) it only took 28 days ;) I like to think of Yoga X as an active rest day; and I think core and balance benefit from the long stretching and contortions we do there. It IS long, I usually skip the end :):)

Isn't it great when other people notice & compliment..feels awesome :)

I have only tried yoga a couple of times..I see it more as a strength training than cardio...but really I have no clue :)

Have a great week!

Well you know that I am all for yoga... It definitely isn't a calorie burner, but it will do wonders for your body. Flexibility is really something that can work for you in the long run.

That being said though... yoga isn't for everyone... no matter how hard you try or "want" it to be something you do... yoga just isn't for everyone. If you're dissatisfied on your yoga days and dread them, do something else. Cardio X is probably not a bad choice as there is a little yoga to help you stretch, but not 90 minutes worth. LOL.

Go you on getting through 2 weeks though!!! Keep up the great work!

Oh interesting! I asked for and got p90x for Christmas but have not been able to use it yet because of my little hernia. One thing I need to figure out when I start is how to incorporate my weekly training session with my mom. I don't want to give that up but it will mess with the strength part. As for yoga, while it does not burn as many calories, it is good in so many other ways!
