Chest and Back

Man did I feel defeated last night while I was doing the Chest and Back routine. I realize that I am not strong and I have a real hard time with all those push ups. My sweet hubby told me that I had improved since the week before but I really wanted to be able to do MORE. I did increase my weights for the Heavy Pants and Lawnmower exercises... I am doing 25lbs for those. Well, I can't wait to see what next week brings with this DVD. I should have been pleased with my progress since I was able to do 5 decline push ups last night and 8 dive bombs which was a big improvement from last week... I just am impatient and want to be able to keep up with my hubby and Tony :(

Make it a great day!

A day of rest

I was hoping that a full day of rest might heal my muscle pains and help me get through this week. I mean, I am really sore right now but my joints seem to be holding up ok. I feel like I may have pulled a butt muscle... is that even possible? I am back to hurting all over... my sides (I guess that may be where obliques may be developing), my butt, my legs and my back... all over!! I am not complaining because obviously I have worked my muscles and that can only mean results (some day). I have to say that I really missed my P90X Recovery Drink yesterday... I think that I may be addicted to that stuff... I mean, I think that it helps motivate me to do the workout :P

Anywho, here begins another week of tough workouts and potentially some results in the mirror because the scale did not move this week :-(

Make it a great day!

Kenpo

Once again I am left breathless as I complete the Kenpo routine. This routine is fast and furious!! You don't stop and since my legs were still wobbly from the legs and back routine I was feeling a little clumsey.

Anywho, I got through the first week of Classic and I vowed that I was not going to weigh in weekly but I think that I will weigh in tomorrow morning to have an indication on what success that I may, or not be having. I do know that the scale can be deceiving since I will definately be gaining muscle with this program but I have to "measure" my progress somehow... for my own sanity.

SO... have a great day and I will enjoy my day off today.

Legs and back

OMGoodness, I almost forgot what a tough routine this one is! My legs are really wobbly this morning and I am afraid to try walking up and down the stairs. This series of exercises are for real... if they do not stregthen your legs then nothing will. My legs were shaking as I tried to keep my wall squat for 90 seconds and then the chair pose near the end of the DVD was just killer. This morning, just for fun, I tried to do the chair pose again and BOY OH BOY that is just a brutal position to assume. Anyway, another day under my belt and tomorrow is the end of the first week (again) as we do Kenpo to complete the first of the Classic routine. This is way different than the Lean program that we first started ... BUT I LOVE IT!

Make it a great day!!

Arms and Back

Boy oh boy it was a tough start to this routine last night but I chose to breathe and keep pushing myself! What a great feeling to accomplish something that seems so hard at first glance. I increased my weights in all the exercises and even did 20 pounds for the concentration curls... yeah me! Following this routine was the Ab Ripper program and I decided that I would attack it differently because I always feel so defeated after that DVD. So, here is what I decided would work for me - I chose how many reps that I would do BEFORE the workout began ... so the number that was right for me was 15. So instead of doing the 25 reps at the beginning and not being able to get through ALL of the exercises I would stop after I reached my goal of 15 ... and guess what?!!! I DID IT!! ALL OF IT... I, for the very first time, felt like I conquered the dreaded Ab Ripper X. Now, next week I am going to be aiming to complete 20 of each set... then 22... then 25 and I will be able to keep up with Tony ;)

Thanks for reading...

Make it a great day!

A substitution ... Yoga for Stetch X

Well after a long day of work and running the children from one place to another I just couldn't bare the thought of 1 1/2 hours of Yoga... why oh why did they have to make that DVD so LONG?!!! Anyway, I decided to substitute the Yoga for the Stretch routine. I don't know that I should have but it is too late - I did! Next week I will start earlier in the day and make sure to get the Yoga in. SO, that is all to report today... the stretch routine always makes me feel great so I am feeling ready for the legs routine tonight!

Plyometrics

OK... the great thing about changing the version of the program is that I get to experience all new DVDs. This plyometrics was the craziest of all workouts and I have to admit that I was the sweatiest after this DVD. It was the best CRAZY that I have yet to experience and although my legs feel wobbly today I am excited to try it again next week!

Let me remind you that I have some serious knee problems as that is where most of my flare-ups start... but I was still able to follow along with the program. I know that these exercises will have the greatest effect on my disease because as I strengthen my legs it should take pressure off my knees. It is a killer hour but you feel great at the end of it.

Caution: your eyes may sting when the sweat is dripping into them during the cool down! Although I toweled off many, many times during the video it still could not stop the persperation from my brow!! What a great workout!!!

Make it a great day all! Tonight is Arms and Back, another one of my faves!

Chest, Shoulders and Tri-ceps

WOW... it hurts to type this morning because this workout is intense. I am really grateful for my recovery drink because I am sure that I would be hurtin' way more if I had not have taken it.

About the workout... chin ups and push ups - that is what you can expect. It was not pretty but I did as many reps as my weak shoulders could muster. I hate, no, I HATE decline push ups!! I can't wait to build enough strength to keep up with Tony and the gang and crush those decline push ups... but in the meantime, I HATE them!

Anyway, it feels great to be doing the program again and I can't wait for tonight - Plyometrics.

Make it a great day!

X Stretch

WOW... that felt great! I can't believe that this is the first time I pushed play for this DVD. If I would have known that it was going to make me feel so good I would not have taken the day off these past weeks!
Tonight my hubby and I are starting over and we are going to be doing the Classic version of the program. Well, he is anyway and I am going to be doing Doubles. So tonight is Chest and Back and Ab Ripper... fun, fun! We are excited!

You may be wondering why we would start over so I will tell you. With the three weeks off we felt that we had lost so much ground that we might as well start over... so that is what we are doing.

Wish us luck!

Flared up and hurtin'

Couldn't manage another workout yesterday... hurting too bad. My muscles are sore but that is good... my joints, on the other hand, is more than I can bare. Called the specialist this morning and should be medicated and ready to go tonight! Cardio tonight... should be great!

Core after two and 1/2 weeks off!

OK, so here is my advice for anyone who is reading this and thinking about starting the program... DO NOT TAKE TIME OFF!!! We went for a two week vacation in Sunny Florida and for two weeks we walked, on average, 12 hours per day. When the day was done we were too tired to break out the videos and push play so my dear hubby and I decided that we would have the next 50 weeks to worry about it and in the meantime we would enjoy our vacation. And so we did!!! We did not eat right... we did no real exercises and we were lovin' life... and now we are paying the price.

Last night we finally mustered up the energy to start back. So, we started with the core workout... OMGoodness!!! We are totally out of shape and obviously our diets have not been a great source of energy neither. BUT in all fairness... we DID push play and we are back at it!

Wish us luck
